The Flamethrower is a weapon for the primary slot.
Description
Sprays a short-range stream of flames that hang and slide along surfaces, burning everyone they pass through. Devastating up close, useless at range.
Thawing teammates
Fire melts frost. Every flame that hits a teammate takes away 4 seconds' worth of their frost for each second of fire (the Thaws Teammates stat).
- The stream hits about 12 times a second. On a chilled ally it drains the chill at about 1.6 per second, on top of the chill's own drain of 0.4 per second, so a full chill clears in about half a second.
- On a frozen ally, each second of fire ends the freeze about 4 seconds sooner, so a 2 second freeze from a Thermal Void lasts only about 0.4 seconds.
- That makes the thaw about twice as fast as a Thermal Void builds a freeze, and it cuts a freeze to about a fifth of its length.
It only works on teammates:
- Your fire never thaws an enemy, so you can't undo your own team's freeze on someone.
- You can't thaw yourself.
