Reframe classes around building your own with the loadout and spec systems
Line 1: Line 1:
TeamSpec is a class-based team shooter. A class is a named loadout: four items plus a split of 10 spec points. The game comes with the ready-made classes below, and you can build your own (see Loadouts). You pick or change class in your team's spawn room or while dead.
TeamSpec is the class-based shooter where you can make your own class, both in terms of gameplay and looks!

There is no fixed list of classes. Change your stats by allocating points into three categories: Power, Pick and Support. Most weapons require a certain amount of points to be allocated into one or more of these roles, so you can mix and match to create a loadout, and customize the look of your character to something that feels like you.

A class is whatever you build in the Build-a-class window: four items from the loadout system and a split of 10 points in the spec system. Your items decide how you fight, and your points decide how fast, how tough and how quick to recover you are. Then give it your look with Cosmetics, body colours and skin tone.

Every class has 10 spec points to share between three corners: Pick, Power and Support. The handle always works out to whole points that add up to 10, and the triangle takes on a blend of the three colours, which your class tile uses too.

Items cost points
Each item has a cost in Pick, Power and Support. A cost is a minimum your split has to reach, not a price you pay: on each corner, your points must be at least the highest cost among your four items. The Minigun needs 8 Power, so a minigun class is a tough, slow one; the Bauble of Condensed Air needs 7 Pick, so its class is fast. Free items such as the Shotgun, Pistol, Pulse Rifle and Cast Iron Pan fit anything. Every item's cost is listed on Items and Weapons, and in each item's infobox.

With Limit to valid ticked (the default), the handle stays inside the part of the triangle your items can afford and the rest is greyed out. If your items together need more than 10 points, the triangle shows IMPOSSIBLE and the class cannot be applied until you swap something out.

Building a class
Press L to open My Classes, then add a new class or right-click one of yours to edit it. In Build-a-class you give it a name, an icon and a short "how to play it" note, fill the Primary, Secondary, Melee and Accessory slots, and place the handle on the triangle. You can keep as many classes as you like. Full steps: Loadouts.

Preset builds
To give you somewhere to start, the game comes with ten preset builds. A new profile gets all ten as its first classes, and the Load preset loadouts tile in My Classes adds them again at any time (as copies, so nothing you have is overwritten). Once loaded they are ordinary classes of your own: play them as they are, or change their items and points into something else. The presets can change between updates.

The spec triangle

Every class has 10 spec points to share between three corners: Pick, Power and Support. In the editor you drag one handle inside a triangle; the closer it sits to a corner, the more points go there. The handle always works out to whole points that add up to 10, and the triangle takes on a blend of the three colours, which your class tile uses too.

Pick
+0.5 m/s speed per point
10 points
Power
+25 health per point
Support
+2.5 health/s regen per point
Corner Colour Gives At 0 points At 10 points
Pick Green Running speed: 5 m/s base, plus 0.5 m/s per point 5 m/s 10 m/s
Power Red Maximum health: 150 base, plus 25 per point 150 400
Support Blue Regeneration: 2.5 health per second per point, starting 3 seconds after you last took damage None 25 per second

Hover the triangle to see your current split and what it gives. Some items change your stats on top of this: the Pet Rock adds 100 health and slows you to 80%, and carrying the Sniper Rifle halves your speed. A server can change how long regeneration waits after damage.

Preset Pick / Power / Support Health Speed Regen per second Primary Secondary Melee Accessory
Engineer 2 / 2 / 6 200 6 m/s 15 Shotgun Pistol Hammerench Struction Console

Changing class in a match

You can switch to another of your classes while dead or in your own team's spawn room. See Loadouts#Changing class in a match.
