Welcome to TeamSpec, the class-based shooter where you can make your own class, both in terms of gameplay and looks. This page gets you into your first match.

1. Practise at the Academy

Host a game on Academy, the Training Range. It has no clock, so take your time: shoot the dummies, track the strafers, check falloff on the ruler and try out different builds.

2. Learn the keys

W A S D to move, Space to jump, Shift to crouch, Ctrl to slide, mouse buttons to fire, R to reload, 1 to 4 for your slots and L for your loadout. Full list: Controls.

3. Make your class

There are no fixed classes: press L and build your own from four items and 10 spec points split between Pick (speed), Power (health) and Support (regeneration). See Classes. Change your classes as you learn what you like, and dress your character with Cosmetics.

4. Find a match

Use Quickplay to be matched to a server, the Server browser to pick one yourself, or host your own. Bring friends with a party.

5. Play the objective

Kills matter less than the goal. Push or block the cart in Payload, defend your boss in Service, bank souls in Soul Banking.

Tips

  • Your own spawn room refills you and lets you switch to another of your classes.
  • Out of combat for 3 seconds, you start regenerating if your class has Support points.
  • Rockets aimed at the floor beside an enemy are easier to land than rockets aimed at them.
  • Explosions hurt you too. See Damage.
