Items are everything you can own and use in TeamSpec. There are two kinds: weapons, which decide how you fight, and cosmetics, which decide how you look.
Weapons
Every class you build carries four weapons, one in each loadout slot: primary, secondary, melee and accessory. Accessories are weapons too: the Struction Console builds, the Soul Linker links, and the Pet Rock and Bauble of Condensed Air change how you move and survive.
Each weapon costs Pick, Power and Support points, so what you carry shapes how you spend your spec (see Classes). Every weapon is free to use: there is nothing to unlock.

Cosmetics
Cosmetics change only how your character looks: they give no stats. There are six cosmetic slots (hat, coat, belt, trousers, boots and an accessory), and several pieces belong to matching sets. Cosmetics are owned through Steam, so they can be traded and sold on the Steam Community Market, and they appear in your Inventory.
