Each map plays one game mode, named by the start of the map's file name. The mode is the kind of match; each map sets its own teams, clock and numbers, so two maps of the same mode can play differently. A custom map can bring a mode of its own.
| Mode | Prefix | Goal | Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payload | pl_ |
Attackers push a cart along a track; defenders hold it off until time runs out. | Kraken Pier |
| Service | s_ |
Kill the enemy team's boss before they kill yours. | Darkcove |
| Soul Banking | sb_ |
Collect souls from fallen enemies and fill your team's bank. | Soulhouse |
| Training Range | tr_ |
No goal: practice on targets and bots. | Academy |
All modes share the basics: you respawn after 8 seconds unless the map says otherwise, your own spawn room protects and resupplies you, and when a match ends the map vote picks the next map.
