Launch options

Launch options are words added to the command that starts the game. They override your Settings for that launch only, and they help when the game will not start, crashes while loading, or makes the rest of your computer struggle while it loads.
Setting them in Steam
- In your Steam Library, right-click TeamSpec and choose Properties.
- On the General tab, type the options into Launch Options, separated by spaces.
- Start the game. To stop using them, clear the box.
Options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
--rendering-driver vulkan |
Starts with the Vulkan graphics API, whatever Graphics API is set to in Settings > Video. |
--rendering-driver d3d12 |
Starts with Direct3D 12 instead. |
--safe-rendering |
Turns threaded rendering off, and while a loading screen is up, prepares the game's graphics one piece at a time instead of on several cores at once. Loading takes longer. Try it if the game crashes on startup or while loading. |
--compile-thread-ratio share |
How much of your processor the game may use to prepare its graphics, from 0 to 1. The default is 0.75, three quarters, which leaves the rest of your computer room to keep working while the game loads. A lower value such as 0.5 leaves more room and loads more slowly; 1 lets the game use all of it, and 0 removes the limit.
|
For example, --rendering-driver vulkan --safe-rendering starts with Vulkan and safe rendering together.
If the game will not start
- Try the other graphics API first:
--rendering-driver vulkanor--rendering-driver d3d12. If one cannot start at all, the game falls back to the other on its own. - If it starts but crashes while loading, add
--safe-rendering. - If your computer stutters or its sound cuts out while the game loads, try
--compile-thread-ratio 0.5.
The first launch after a game update or a graphics driver update takes longer than usual, because the game prepares its graphics again for your hardware. Later launches reuse that work.
