A health pack is a pickup that restores health. Walk over one to take it.
Sizes
| Size | Heals |
|---|---|
| Small | 25% of your maximum health |
| Medium | 50% of your maximum health |
| Large | 100% of your maximum health |
The share is of your own maximum, so a pack heals more for a player with a higher maximum. At the base maximum of 150 a small pack heals 37.5, a medium one 75 and a large one 150. Healing stops at your maximum; there is no overheal.
Taking any health pack also puts you out if you are on fire.
Who can take one
- Any living player can take a level's health pack, whatever their team.
- You cannot take one at full health. It stays on the ground for someone who needs it.
- A game mode can add its own rules about who may take a pickup.
On maps
Health packs are placed by the map maker as supply pickups (see Level Editor/Entities/Supply Pickup). Each one rests a little off the floor, turning slowly. When it is taken, a ring marks the spot until the next pack appears, 10 seconds later unless the map sets another time.
Tip: A small pack is worth more to a player with high maximum health. Leave the large packs for teammates who are nearly dead.
Other ways to heal are the Dispenser, the Mender and regeneration; see Health.
