The Stickybomb Launcher is a weapon for the primary slot.
Description
Lobs bombs that stick to whatever they hit, enemies included. Right-click to set them all off. Patience is a virtue.
Laying bombs
- Bombs fly on the same arc as the Grenade Launcher's grenades but never bounce: each one sticks to the first thing it touches and stays there.
- A bomb sticks to walls and floors, to buildings of either team, to moving platforms and to the Payload cart, and rides along with anything that moves.
- It also sticks to an enemy player or to Sar'Thuun, on the exact spot it hit, and moves with that arm, leg or tentacle. Bombs fly through teammates and through you.
- You can have up to 6 bombs out. Firing a seventh sets off your oldest one.
- A bomb fizzles out with no blast after 60 seconds, or as soon as what it is stuck to is gone: the enemy dies or the building is destroyed. A building that is picked up drops its bombs to the floor, still armed.
- All of your bombs fizzle when you die, leave the server, or take the launcher out of your loadout. Switching to another weapon keeps them.
Detonating
- Press secondary fire (Right mouse) with the launcher in hand to set off every armed bomb at once.
- A bomb arms 1 second after it is fired, with a double beep and a flash of its light in your team's color. An armed bomb keeps blinking and beeping softly. Bombs that are not armed yet stay where they are.
- Each blast deals up to 100 damage in a 3 m radius, less toward the edge, and pushes everyone in it. A bomb stuck to an enemy deals that enemy the full 100.
- Your own bombs hurt you for half their damage (see self-damage) and throw you hard, so a bomb set off under your feet is a sticky jump.
Reloading
The launcher reloads one bomb at a time, 0.5 s each. Pressing the trigger during a reload stops it, and the launcher can fire what is already loaded a moment later.
Countering
Every bomb has 50 health. Shoot or hit one to destroy it before it goes off: bullets, pellets, melee, flames and direct hits all count, but blasts do not. Only the enemy team can destroy a bomb.
Tips
- Lay bombs where enemies have to pass, such as a doorway or the cart's path, and set them off when someone arrives.
- A bomb stuck to a retreating enemy goes with them. Set it off before they reach a health pack.
