The Duplicate tool copies the selected brushes and lets you drag the copies straight to where you want them.

Using it

  1. Select one or more brushes.
  2. Click Duplicate on the toolbar. The copies are made at once and follow the mouse across the horizontal plane through the selection's center.
  3. Hold Alt to move them up and down instead.
  4. Click (release the left mouse button) to drop them. The editor then switches to the Box tool.

The drag snaps to the grid. The copies go into the same group as the brushes they were copied from.

Other ways to copy

  • Ctrl+D (Edit > Duplicate) copies anything selected, props and groups too, nudged a little beside the source.
  • Duplicate in the scene tree's right-click menu copies in place, without moving.
  • Tools > Array Duplicate... (Ctrl+Shift+V) makes many copies in a row or a ring. See Tools menu.
  • Mirror Nodes keep a live copy of half a map in sync.
